Foresight Canada to continue Project Greenlight's legacy of advancing cleantech adoption in Metro Vancouver

The Lower Mainland is one of Canada’s premier cleantech centers, with organizations like the Vancouver Economic Commission (VEC) and Foresight Canada working hard to connect innovators in the region with opportunities to demonstrate the efficacy of their sustainability solutions. As a country with a noticeable adoption gap, these pilot opportunities are critically important for ventures to deploy their innovation and support Canada in reaching its net zero targets.

With the recent announcement of VEC’s decommission, Foresight is ensuring a continuation of this critical support by absorbing Project Greenlight and continuing to drive cleantech adoption and sustainability in Metro Vancouver.

Project Greenlight challenge members and innovators should join Foresight’s network to stay up to date with the latest cleantech news and opportunities. It’s free and simple to join.

For three years, Project Greenlight’s technology demonstration platform fast-tracked pilot projects and accelerated Vancouver’s transition to net zero by working with transit authorities, developers, utilities, and other major enterprises in the Metro Vancouver area.

As a long-time program delivery partner, Foresight Canada is excited to continue creating these connections, increasing collaboration, and building on Project Greenlight’s momentum through its own host of challenge, pilot, and adoption programs. As Canada’s largest cleantech innovation and adoption accelerator, Foresight has supported 1,110+ cleantech ventures, built relationships with 400+ investors, and engaged with 2,000+ stakeholders from around the world to secure $1.72 billion in capital and support the creation of 8,070+ high-paying jobs for Canadians.

Foresight has also run 57 innovation challenges, which have resulted in an estimated 68.9 Mt of emissions reductions. By tapping into the Project Greenlight network we can achieve even more, closing the adoption gap, driving down emissions, and accelerating the transition to a net zero future.

Project Greenlight has been a very effective program in helping many municipalities and organizations in Metro Vancouver decarbonize their operations and advance sustainability agendas. Foresight is excited to be absorbing Project Greenlight, and looks forward to building on this platform to catalyze cleantech adoption in the Lower Mainland, and across Canada.

Next Steps

Foresight would like to thank the Vancouver Economic Commission for entrusting us to continue their important work and legacy.

Over the next few weeks, the Foresight team will be reaching out to Project Greenlight members to discuss their experience with the platform and process. This will ensure that Foresight continues to deliver an efficient, effective service that catalyzes cleantech innovation and deploys sustainable solutions where they are needed most.

If you have been involved with Project Greenlight and have any questions about the absorption, please reach out to our Program Manager of Innovation Challenges, Anisa Maruschak, [email protected].
